One Unbroken Line is a location-based audio platform. You walk around and sounds play. This page explains what data the app handles and why.
If you create an account, we store your username and optionally your email address. Your email is only used to send a login code — we don't send newsletters or marketing emails. If you use the app without an account, nothing identifying you is stored.
When you're inside an audio zone, we record that visit: which zone, when you entered and left, and your approximate position at the time. GPS coordinates from zone visits are automatically deleted after 365 days. If you record a GPS path, those points are stored until you delete them.
Audio you upload stays on our servers until you delete it. If you submit a recording to a public contribution zone, your name (if you provided one) and the recording are stored for moderation by the zone's creator.
Zone visit data powers the core experience — it's how the app knows which zones you've triggered. Creators can see aggregate statistics for their own zones. Nobody else sees your individual visit history.
We don't use your data for advertising and we don't sell it.
None of these services receive your name, email address, or account details.
Deleting your account removes everything tied to it: sounds, projects, zone visits, and paths. Anonymous contributions are not linked to an account and remain unless deleted by the zone owner.
To request deletion or ask about your data, contact us at [email protected].
This app is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
If anything significant changes here, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
